About

Rewrite Psychosis is a creative platform for families and those who support people who have experienced psychosis. We publish creative writing, art, audio and video exploring what it means to be alongside those in a mental health crisis. Psychosis is often told as a medical story. The experience of family members/carers is frequently overlooked. We exist to make space for the unheard perspectives.

The project is co-led by Dr Nathan Filer and Tanya Frank. Nathan is an author and academic at Bath Spa University, where he leads The Research Centre for Mental Health and Creativity. Tanya is an author, workshop facilitator, and the mother of a son who has experienced psychosis.

Rewrite Psychosis is supported by the AHRC Impact Accelerator Award Leading Impact Fund and Bath Spa University. Funding has enabled the development of facilitated writing workshops, editorial support and this public platform for ongoing submission and publication. You can read a summary evaluation of the project here.

Submissions are open for those who wish to share creative work rooted in their experience.
